Samsung Galaxy AI and Bixby Expand Language Support Globally

Samsung is broadening the reach of its artificial intelligence features, Galaxy AI and Bixby, by expanding their language support. This move, announced by Samsung Newsroom Global, aims to make these AI experiences accessible to more users globally, allowing them to interact with their Galaxy devices in their preferred language.

For Galaxy AI, the expansion primarily focuses on features that involve translation, transcription, and summarisation. Tools like Call Assist, Note Assist, Interpreter, and Transcript Assist now include Hungarian and Malay. This update brings the Live Translate capability, for example, to a total of 24 languages. Additionally, Now Nudge, which suggests relevant next steps based on on-screen content, has added eight new languages, also reaching 24 languages supported.

This means that Galaxy users can now leverage real-time translation during calls or get help summarising notes in more linguistic contexts than before. While these specific new languages are not Indian, the general expansion highlights Samsung's commitment to making its on-device AI more universally useful. For Indian users, this signals a path towards broader language support for AI features in the future.

Meanwhile, Bixby, Samsung's device agent for intuitive control through natural conversation, is also getting an upgrade. Users can ask Bixby for tasks without needing to know exact settings or menu locations. With the addition of Polish, Thai, and Vietnamese, Bixby now supports 12 languages. This allows more Galaxy owners to control their devices effortlessly, simply by speaking to them.

The rollout for these new language additions has already begun for Bixby, with support for Polish, Thai, and Vietnamese starting on October 14. The expanded language support for Galaxy AI features, including Hungarian and Malay, is scheduled to follow in the coming weeks. This phased rollout ensures that Samsung Galaxy device owners will soon experience more localised and convenient AI interactions.

The consistent expansion of language capabilities for both Galaxy AI and Bixby reinforces Samsung's strategy to integrate AI deeply into user experience, making its smart features practical for a wider global audience. For Indian users of Galaxy devices, this trend means a more intuitive and helpful experience, as AI features become less of a novelty and more of an everyday utility.
