Redmi has officially confirmed the K100 smartphone for a China launch later this month, with pre-reservations already open. Leaks suggest it will feature a massive 10,000mAh battery and high-end specs, targeting gamers and power users.
Redmi just confirmed the K100 smartphone is launching in China later this month, a move that's sure to catch the eye of power users and mobile gamers.
The company teased the upcoming device on its official Weibo account, but a full spec sheet and exact launch date are still under wraps. For keen buyers in China, pre-reservations have already started with a CNY 9.9 deposit, which is roughly Rs. 140. Those who pre-order will also snag a special new-product gift package.
A Glimpse at the Design and Core Focus
While Redmi is holding back on the full details, a teaser image gives us a peek at the K100's back. It appears to feature two camera sensors alongside a large circular element. This circle might be a speaker grille, similar to what we've seen on their K100 Pro series, but for now, that's just speculation.
Redmi has been pretty vocal about combining a chunky battery with gaming performance that you typically see in Pro-level flagships. This phone is clearly aimed at users who demand long hours and powerful performance.
Massive 10,000mAh Battery and Other Key Rumours
The standout feature, according to online leaks, is an enormous 10,000mAh battery. If this holds true, the K100 would be a top pick for anyone who hates being constantly tethered to a charger, allowing for games and streaming to run all day on a single charge. For context, even the recently launched Redmi 17C 5G in India comes with a 6,000mAh battery, so 10,000mAh is truly exceptional.
Beyond the battery, everyone is betting the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset will power the K100, though Redmi hasn't officially confirmed the processor yet. Leaks also point to a large 6.9-inch OLED display with an incredibly smooth 185Hz refresh rate. This would make general scrolling and especially gaming look incredibly fluid.
There's also talk of Bose-tuned speakers and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, which would make the K100 quite durable for daily use. Software-wise, rumours suggest the phone will launch with HyperOS 4, based on Android 17, but again, we're waiting for official confirmation from Redmi.
Expected Pricing and India Outlook
According to leaks reported by India TV News, the Redmi K100 is expected to be priced around CNY 3,500 in China, which converts to roughly Rs. 50,000. However, Redmi has not said anything official about the price, nor has it confirmed any plans for an India launch or availability outside China.
Given its rumoured specifications, especially that huge battery, the Redmi K100 could be a compelling option if it ever makes it to India. However, without official confirmation or pricing, it's hard to say if it's worth waiting for.
How it Stacks Up Against Redmi's K100 Pro Series
For some perspective, Redmi's higher-end K100 Pro and Pro Max models landed in China just a couple of months ago, in August 2026. The K100 Pro starts at CNY 3,999 (about Rs. 57,000), running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V chip with an 8,580mAh battery.
The K100 Pro Max bumps the battery to 9,070mAh and packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It starts at CNY 4,499 (about Rs. 64,000). Both Pro phones also support very fast 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The K100, with its rumoured 10,000mAh battery, would surpass both its Pro siblings in raw battery capacity, potentially offering even longer endurance, though charging speeds for the K100 are still unknown.
