OPPO has confirmed that ColorOS 17 will launch in India on October 13, with the rollout starting at 2:30 PM IST. The new operating system is based on Android 17 and is also expected to reach OnePlus and Realme devices.
OPPO has confirmed that ColorOS 17, its next-generation Android-based operating system, will launch in India on October 13, with the rollout starting at 2:30 PM IST. The global launch for the software is scheduled for 11 AM CEST, which corresponds to the same 2:30 PM IST time, according to Moneycontrol.com.
This new software is based on Android 17 and will bring changes to the user experience on compatible OPPO devices. ColorOS 17 will also come pre-installed on the upcoming OPPO Find X10 series when those smartphones launch in India, though specific details on that series are still awaited.
Interestingly, ColorOS 17 is also expected to reach select OnePlus and Realme smartphones. This move is part of a broader effort by the BBK Electronics Group, the parent company of OPPO, OnePlus, and Realme, to consolidate resources and improve efficiency across its various smartphone brands.
OPPO has already given a preview of ColorOS 17 in China, offering an early look at its interface and features. However, the company has not yet provided a complete India-specific rollout schedule or confirmed the full list of eligible smartphones for the update. Similarly, the complete feature list and device-wise rollout timeline for India have not been specified.
OPPO Enco X4 and OPPO Pad Mini Also Expected
Alongside the software rollout, OPPO is expected to introduce new hardware products in India. These include the Enco X4 true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds and the OPPO Pad Mini tablet.
The Enco X4 earbuds have already launched in China. They feature a dual-driver setup, which includes an 11mm dynamic woofer and a 6mm planar tweeter. These drivers are co-tuned with Dynaudio, a known audio brand. OPPO has also teased the earbuds in a white finish with the tagline “Built for Studios, Tuned for You”, suggesting a focus on audio quality.
The OPPO Pad Mini has been teased as a Matte Display Edition, indicating a screen designed to reduce glare, and will support stylus input. While not confirmed for the India model, it is expected to feature an 8,000mAh battery and 67W fast charging. These specifications would position it as a capable tablet for productivity and media consumption.
OPPO is expected to share further details about the ColorOS 17 software rollout and its upcoming products, including the Enco X4 and OPPO Pad Mini, during the India launch event tomorrow.
