Sennheiser has launched a Lunar Silver colour option for its HDB 630 headphones in India, priced at ₹44,990. This new variant brings a fresh look to the existing platform.
Sennheiser has launched a new Lunar Silver colour for its HDB 630 headphones in India, with a reported launch price of ₹44,990, according to Gogi Tech. This new finish joins the existing black version, offering Indian buyers another aesthetic choice for the same HDB 630 platform. It’s important to note this is a colour update, not a new generation of headphones.
What's New With the Lunar Silver HDB 630
The main appeal of the HDB 630 Lunar Silver is straightforward: the popular audio platform now comes in a brighter, distinct finish. For anyone considering the HDB 630 already, this simply expands your options. The core acoustic design, wireless capabilities, and detailed listening controls remain central to the package.
Bundled BTD 700 Dongle for High-Res Audio
A key inclusion with the HDB 630 is the BTD 700 USB-C Bluetooth dongle. This small transmitter plugs into compatible phones, tablets, or computers, ensuring an aptX Adaptive connection to the headphones. This is especially useful if your source device doesn doesn’t natively support the aptX Adaptive codec via its built-in Bluetooth.
Matching codec support is crucial for high-resolution wireless audio. The bundled BTD 700 helps overcome common compatibility issues, allowing listeners to explore playback quality up to 24-bit/96kHz wirelessly. You’ll need to enable Hi-Res mode in the Smart Control Plus app for this, and of course, use suitable source recordings.
Flexible Connectivity and Sound Controls
Beyond wireless, the HDB 630 offers versatile wired connections. It supports digital listening via USB-C, and a supplied 3.5mm cable lets you connect to analogue outputs. Do keep in mind the headphones need to stay switched on even when using the 3.5mm cable.
For sound customisation, the Smart Control Plus app includes Parametric EQ and Crossfeed features. Parametric EQ gives you precise control, letting you adjust specific frequencies, their boost or cut, and the breadth of that adjustment. Crossfeed can subtly blend audio between left and right channels, which can make older stereo recordings sound less harshly separated. Both these controls are available through Smart Control Plus.
Adaptive ANC and Battery Life
The HDB 630 includes Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) to help reduce surrounding distractions, along with a Transparency mode for when you need to hear what’s happening around you.
Battery life is a strong point, at least on paper. Sennheiser rates the HDB 630 for up to 60 hours at standard resolution. However, using aptX Adaptive at 24-bit/96kHz with the BTD 700 reduces this to around 45 hours, based on the official FAQ. So, higher resolution playback does come with a trade-off in battery duration. A quick 10-minute fast charge can add up to seven hours of playback, with a full charge taking about two hours.
What This Means for Indian Buyers
Priced at ₹44,990, the Sennheiser HDB 630 Lunar Silver sits in the premium wireless headphone segment in India. This is a space where models like the Sony WH-1000XM6, which Gogi Tech also mentioned in its background on the HDB 630, are popular choices. The HDB 630’s distinct features, like the included aptX Adaptive dongle and deep sound customisation, set it apart. If you were already considering the HDB 630 Black, this new Lunar Silver variant simply gives you another attractive option without changing the underlying tech or price point. The long battery rating and comprehensive accessory package, including a USB-C to USB-C audio and charging cable, a 3.5mm audio cable, an in-flight adapter, and a carrying case, also add to its value proposition.
