Samsung has commenced the rollout of its Android 17-based One UI 9 stable update for several flagship devices. The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold5, and Galaxy Z Flip5 are the first in line to receive this major software upgrade.

According to GSMArena, the initial rollout has begun in South Korea. Users who were part of the beta program for the Galaxy S23 trio are receiving the stable One UI 9 with build version GZIF. For these users, the update package is relatively small, weighing in at less than 500MB.

However, if you own a Galaxy S23 series phone, a Fold5, or a Flip5 and were not enrolled in the beta program, you'll be looking at a much larger download. Non-beta users can expect a package size of around 3GB for the stable One UI 9 update.

While the update is currently limited to South Korea, GSMArena reports that it should expand to non-beta users in South Korea and other regions soon. This typically means Indian users with these devices won't have to wait too long to get their hands on the latest software experience.

For Indian buyers, the "stable" tag is important here. It means the update has gone through extensive testing by Samsung and beta users to iron out major bugs, offering a more refined and reliable user experience compared to the beta versions. You're getting the finished product, not a test build.

Once the update begins its wider international rollout and reaches India, you can manually check for it on your eligible Samsung device. Just navigate to your phone’s Settings, then head to Software update, and tap on 'Download and install'.
