New leaks suggest the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro could offer impressive gaming performance, with an industry tipster sharing high frame rate numbers for a popular title. The phone reportedly features a 185Hz display and advanced cooling, but its India launch details remain unconfirmed.
Industry tipster Digital Chat Station has shared impressive gaming performance numbers for the upcoming OnePlus Ace 7 Pro, reportedly showing the phone maintaining nearly 185 frames per second (fps) in a demanding title. This leak comes as OnePlus opens reservations for the Ace 7 series in China, with an official launch expected by the end of October.
Strong Gaming Performance Tipped for Ace 7 Pro
According to Gizmochina, the tipster posted screenshots from a performance monitoring tool, PerfDog, which showed the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro running the game Delta Force at an average of 185.02fps throughout a full-scale battle. The frame-rate curve was reportedly flat, indicating consistent performance. More impressively, the 1% low frame rate was recorded at 183.1fps, suggesting very little stutter or drop in performance.
This high frame rate performance aligns with previous reports that the OnePlus Ace 7 series would feature a 185Hz display. If these leaks hold, it means the Ace 7 Pro could effectively utilise its high refresh rate screen even in graphically intensive games.
How it Stacks Up Against an Unnamed Flagship
Digital Chat Station also tested another unnamed phone, which reportedly uses a 2nm flagship chip, for comparison. This device managed an average of 163.3fps in the same Delta Force test. Crucially, its 1% low frame rate was a much lower 81.5fps. A drop of that magnitude would likely be noticeable as stutter or lag during gameplay, making the Ace 7 Pro's performance leadership, especially in the 1% low, quite significant on paper.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Advanced Cooling
Earlier leaks suggest the OnePlus Ace 7 Pro will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. To maintain such high performance, especially during extended gaming sessions, the phone is tipped to include an active cooling fan with a dual-airflow design.
This cooling system reportedly uses two distinct air ducts. One is said to focus on the processor area, while the other targets the phone's back cover. This setup aims to better manage both the chip's internal temperature and the external heat on the phone's body. The tipster even claimed the Ace 7 Pro remained cooler than the comparison phone during the test. For Indian mobile gamers, effective cooling is a huge plus, as sustained performance without thermal throttling is crucial for competitive play.
What This Means for Indian Buyers
The OnePlus Ace series typically launches in China first, with some models eventually making their way to India, often rebadged as a part of the OnePlus R series. While there's no official word on an India launch for the Ace 7 Pro, its reported gaming capabilities are certainly something to watch for.
If the Ace 7 Pro, or a rebranded version, does arrive in India, it would likely compete in the premium performance segment. Its rumoured Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and advanced cooling could make it a strong contender against other flagships from brands like iQOO, Xiaomi, and even OnePlus's own numbered series, particularly for users prioritising mobile gaming.
It's important to remember that this test covered only one game. Performance may vary with other titles, game updates, and different graphics settings. Full specifications, India pricing, and availability are still unconfirmed. Meanwhile, the Ace 7 series is now available for pre-order through e-commerce platforms in China, with its official launch expected towards the end of October.
