The ASUS Xbox ROG Ally X20 has officially been released and is now shipping out to customers in the United States. Priced at $1,299.99 (roughly ₹1,08,500 based on current exchange rates, before any taxes or duties), the device is available directly from Best Buy and the ASUS eShop. It first became available for preorder in August this year.
ROG Ally X20: Powering Up with Ryzen Z2 Extreme
Internally, the Xbox Ally X20 is quite similar to its predecessor, the Xbox Ally X. It comes equipped with the latest-generation AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, paired with a generous 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Based on its specifications, it stands out as the most powerful Ryzen-based handheld gaming PC currently available.
Its performance is notably better than other variants in the lineup, including the Ryzen Z1 Extreme, Z2 A, and Z2 Go. This makes the X20 a compelling option for those seeking top-tier portable gaming horsepower.
The device runs on the Windows operating system, but features an integrated Xbox user interface for a streamlined gaming experience. Users also have the flexibility to install Steam OS if they prefer, effectively turning it into a more powerful version of a Steam Deck. In fact, IGN's Jackie Thomas has previously recommended the Xbox Ally models over the Steam Deck.
India Availability and Pricing: What We Know
While the ASUS Xbox ROG Ally X20 is now available in the US, there's no official word yet on its launch, pricing, or availability for the Indian market. ASUS typically brings its ROG products to India, so we expect an announcement soon, but specific dates and Indian pricing remain unconfirmed.
Considering its US price of $1,299.99, the ROG Ally X20 will likely be positioned as a premium gaming handheld in India, if and when it arrives. Indian gamers interested in such a device should keep an eye on official ASUS India channels for local announcements.
For those in the US, Best Buy is also offering significant discounts on open-box units of the previous generation, the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X. Prices for these Geek Squad verified preowned units start from $789.99 for a "Fair Condition" model, with "Excellent Condition" units available for $849.99. These units include a 15-day return policy and may retain most of their original warranty.
