Asus has globally launched its ProArt P14 and P16 laptops, powered by the new Nvidia RTX Spark N1X Superchip. These high-end machines are built for creative professionals and local AI applications.
Asus has officially launched its new ProArt P14 and ProArt P16 creator laptops globally, featuring Nvidia's new RTX Spark N1X Superchip. These machines are designed from the ground up for demanding creative workloads and local AI applications, aiming squarely at the high-end segment. While pre-orders have opened in markets like the US, UK, and Australia, there is no word yet on when these powerful laptops will arrive in India or what their local pricing will be.
Nvidia RTX Spark N1X: A New Era for AI Workloads
The core differentiator here is the RTX Spark N1X Superchip. This is not just a new GPU, it is a unified architecture combining a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU and a Blackwell GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores. What this means for creators is a shared memory pool between the CPU and GPU, which Asus says is optimised for tasks like large language models, image and video generation, AI agents, and complex 3D applications.
Asus has also partnered with ComfyUI and Hermes Agent by Nous Research to integrate software for running local AI workloads directly on these RTX Spark laptops. This focus on integrated AI processing marks a significant shift from the previous ProArt P16 generation, which used AMD Ryzen processors with discrete Nvidia GeForce graphics.
ProArt P16: The Larger Creator Powerhouse
The larger ProArt P16 comes with a 16-inch Lumina Pro OLED touchscreen. Its top configuration boasts a 4K (3,840 x 2,400) resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate, up to 1,600 nits HDR brightness, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and Nvidia G-SYNC support. A 2,880 x 1,800 3K OLED option is also available.
Under the hood, it can be configured with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Connectivity is robust, including three USB4 ports, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, HDMI 2.1, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and an SD Express 7.0 card reader. It also has Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity.
The ProArt P16 measures between 0.51 and 0.63 inches thick and weighs 1.77 kg. It also features a 99.9 Wh battery.
ProArt P14: Compact Yet Capable
For those needing a more portable option, the ProArt P14 packs the same RTX Spark N1X hardware into a smaller chassis. It features a 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, also capable of 1,600 nits in HDR mode and covering 100% DCI-P3 with a Delta E below 1.
Memory goes up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X, while storage is available with a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Connectivity is similar to the P16, offering three USB4 ports, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and an SD 4.0 card reader. It shares the Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless features with its larger sibling.
The P14 is between 0.55 and 0.63 inches thick and weighs 1.48 kg, equipped with a 90 Wh battery.
How They Compare to Apple's MacBook Pro
Notebookcheck highlights that these new ProArt laptops are direct competitors to Apple's MacBook Pro models in their respective size classes. The ProArt P16, at 1.77 kg, is notably lighter than the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which weighs 2.14 kg with the M5 Pro or 2.15 kg with the M5 Max. The P16's 99.9 Wh battery is also marginally larger than the 99.6 Wh in the 16-inch MacBook Pro. However, Apple's offering can be configured with up to 8 TB of SSD storage, while the P16 maxes out at 2 TB.
The 14-inch ProArt P14, weighing 1.48 kg, is similar in size to the 14-inch MacBook Pro. A key advantage for the P14 is its touch-enabled OLED display, a feature absent on the MacBook Pro's Liquid Retina XDR display.
Pricing and India Availability: What We Know
As Notebookcheck reported, global pre-orders for the ProArt P14 and P16 began on October 7, 2026. In the US, the ProArt P14 with Nvidia's RTX Spark N1X starts at $3,699.99, while the ProArt P16 starts at $4,399.99. For the UK, prices start at £2,699.99 for the P14 and £3,899.99 for the P16. In Australia, the P14 starts at A$6,499 and the P16 at A$10,999.
Given these premium international prices, they will likely be positioned at the absolute high-end of the market here if they launch in India. Asus has not confirmed any details about an India launch, local pricing, or availability yet. For Indian creators looking for a powerful machine tailored for local AI and demanding creative tasks, the Asus ProArt P14 and P16 look very promising on paper. With no confirmed India launch or pricing yet, waiting for an official announcement is the sensible approach before making any decisions.
