Apple has launched its new HomeView smart home device in India, priced at ₹39,900. It combines a 7-inch display, speaker, and AI-powered Siri for entertainment and smart home control.
Apple has officially launched its new smart home device, the HomeView, in India. This device combines a touchscreen display, a speaker, and an AI-powered voice assistant, designed to bring entertainment, communication, and home automation together.
Both the tabletop and wall-mounted versions of the Apple HomeView are priced at ₹39,900 in India. Pre-orders for the device began on October 13 through Apple's website and the Apple Store app. The HomeView will go on sale in India and other launch markets starting November 13.
HomeView Features and AI Integration
The Apple HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and is powered by Apple's A18 chip. It includes Siri AI, backed by Apple Intelligence, which supports natural conversations, music discovery, and on-screen awareness. When paired with a compatible Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri can also use personal context from apps like Messages and Calendar for more relevant responses.
The device can recognise up to six people, offering each user a personalised home screen. It supports FaceTime calls with Center Stage, along with Apple Music, Podcasts, and Apple TV. Compatible third-party entertainment apps are also supported.
Smart Home Control and Privacy
HomeView allows users to control compatible smart home devices, including lights, thermostats, locks, and blinds, using either voice commands or the touchscreen. Its Home Camera interface can display up to nine live camera feeds simultaneously.
For enhanced security, with compatible cameras and an eligible iCloud+ subscription, users can receive alerts about people, pets, packages, and vehicles. The device also supports Matter-compatible accessories, which helps it work with a wider range of smart home products. Apple emphasises privacy with the HomeView, protecting personal information through on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute. Personal content is displayed based on user recognition and additional device security requirements.
Variants and Accessories
The HomeView is available in two versions. The tabletop model comes with a speaker base and is offered in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space grey colours. The wall-mounted variant is available in silver and space grey. Wall-mounting accessories are sold separately, with prices starting at ₹6,900.
What This Means for Indian Buyers
At ₹39,900, the Apple HomeView is positioned as a premium smart display in the Indian market. It's worth noting that, as Smartprix reported, this is the same price point as the recently announced Apple TV 4K (2026), suggesting Apple views it as a significant hub for home entertainment and control.
For Indian consumers, the HomeView represents a substantial investment. Its value will largely depend on how deeply integrated they are into the Apple ecosystem, particularly if they own an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, which unlocks the full potential of its advanced Siri AI features. Those already invested in compatible smart home accessories will find it a compelling central control point, but the accessory costs for wall mounting add to the overall expense.
